The Granville Technology Club hosted a Hackathon in conjunction with the nationwide "Hour of Code" movement. The event was held after school and students grades 7-12 were invited to test out their coding skills against other worthy competitors. With the guidance of members of the Technology Club over 20 participants were able to broaden their knowledge of computer science while competing against one another in several coding activities. Mr. Gilman’s classes have been involved in the nationwide event every year since its inception in 2013. This year is no different, “if the kids can’t come to us, we will take computer science to them”, says Mr. Gilman.  “Every student should have the opportunity to learn how to create technology, not just consume it”.

Shout out from Mr. Gilman to Tech Club Leadership that organized this event: Nate Wright, Tristan Merithew, Julian Gifford, Will Li, Aaron Bennett & Mike Belanger.
