Granville Chapter of the National Honor Society Hosts Formal Induction Ceremony
The Granville Chapter of the National Honor Society proudly conducted its formal Induction Ceremony on January 11, 2024, at the High School Auditorium. The ceremony welcomed 10 outstanding students from Granville Jr/Sr High School into the nation's oldest, largest, and most prestigious student recognition program.
Founded in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the National Honor Society is dedicated to recognizing and encouraging academic excellence, as well as fostering qualities of leadership, service, and character among high school students.
The Granville chapter takes great pride in its longstanding tradition of inducting new members since May 16, 1963. To qualify for membership, students must be juniors or seniors with a cumulative academic average of 89.5% or higher. Additionally, members are required to meet the highest standards of service, leadership, and character.
The selection process involves a careful evaluation by a faculty council, consisting of five members appointed by the principal. This ensures that the chosen members truly embody the values and principles upheld by the National Honor Society.
