Granville Jr/Sr High School

In February, several Granville Jr/Sr High School students auditioned and were accepted to the 2025 Washington County Area Music Teachers Association (WCAMTA) All-County Band Festival, which will take place in April 2025 at Greenwich High School in Greenwich, NY.

The festival will showcase concert performances from both junior and senior bands. Over the course of two days, more than 200 students from nine area schools, including Granville, will collaborate to deliver a range of musical performances.

The event includes rehearsals, a concert, and transportation for after-school practice sessions.

Ms. Stout, the Jr/Sr High School Band Director, expressed her pride in the students, stating, "The Senior Band typically includes students in grades 9-12, but our Granville 8th graders outperformed many older students to secure spots in the Senior group. I’m especially proud of them!"

Granville Elementary 6th Grade band members also auditioned and are chosen to attend based on recommendations from their teachers. Ms. Coons, GES Band Director said, "I recommended five students as they are dedicated and hardworking young musicians, and all five were selected to participate! I'm very proud of the work they have put in."

These talented students will perform alongside some of the top musicians from nine surrounding school districts.
