Here is a little bit more about Mrs. Nolan...
How long have you been teaching at Granville Elementary?
I started my career here 21 years ago, and have been teaching here ever since.
What is one of your favorite things about teaching at Granville CSD?
The community! I’m from a small town in Washington County too and I just love the community.
I have experienced the most supportive parents, met local businesses that care and support the schools and the Granville PTO is amazing.
What else would you like our school families to know?
It may be surprising, but in my experience, teaching your children to be kind and get along with others helps them learn new things, make friends and want to go to school.
This can be as simple as reminding your student that not everyone will act the same and look the same, and that we might even have different backgrounds and traditions, and that's okay. Accepting that people can be different is a good trait to have and helps students and entire classrooms work well together.
Other ideas for showing kindness at school and at home include showing concern for others when a fellow student is upset, including others and inviting people in, and taking care of the people, places and things around you helps also shows kindness in a variety of ways.
One of my favorite quotes is:
In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
