EMPLOYMENT TRAINING
NYS Environment Health and Climate Training Program - Free 8-week virtual training program for high school, college, graduate and medical students. Online live sessions with experts across NYS. June 1 - July 22, 2026. Here is the link to learn more. Priority Deadline April 1st. Extended Deadline is May 1st if there are still openings.
Volunteer at the Granville Rescue Squad - Age 16+. A great introduction to the medical field and emergency medicine and a way to involved in the local community. Volunteer membership can lead to free trainings and guidance on a future career as an EMT and more. Applications to volunteer are in the hallway by Senior High Guidance or email Mrs. Zinn ajzinn131@gmail.com.
Volunteer at Local Fire Departments - Age 16+. Get involved, find a mentor and get to know your local community volunteers. Drop in any Tuesday evening at your local fire department station to learn more about volunteering. GCSD school district stations: Pawlet, West Pawlet, and Wells, VT and Granville, Middle Granville, North Granville, Hampton, and Hebron, NY. This can lead to free trainings and guidance in a professional emergency services career.

Join the School PR Crew - Take photos, write articles, create videos and reels for the school. Create just one or get weekly assignments around your interests during the school year, school breaks or during the summer. See Ms. Rozell for summer projects, internship ideas and learn more about communication, marketing, public relations (PR), community development, social media or starting a business with a skill you would like to develop: Contact krozell@granvillecsd.org or drop by the district office (next to the band room). Students and grads welcome.
Local Businesses - Are you a Granville area employer? Apply to be a LEAP employer and mentor site and receive reimbursement for hiring a Granville CSD teen over the summer. Learn more about become a worksite employer for LEAP.
