Here is a recap of Granville NY PTO Activities for the 2025-2026 School Year.
Congratulations on the team of moms, dads, grandparents, community members and staff on making such a big impact in Granville Schools!
1) BACKPACKS FOR HUNGER PROGRAM
This program started several years ago to help students in need. It helps aid students with food for every weekend and vacation week during the school year. This year, the PTO Backpacks for Hunger program supported between 60-70 students every week! The program costs on average $11,000 per year to run. With the help of Mrs. Nelson’s class in the high school, we were able to shop, plan, pack, and deliver each week’s backpacks to make sure the dietary needs of our students are taken care of when they are not at school. We could not continue this program without the continued support.
2) FOR THE STAFF
Staff Member of the Month: One staff member from each building receives a slate frame and a gift card donated by Indulge Pizza. They are nominated by fellow staff members.
Funding Requests: Teachers/Staff are able to submit funding requests to the PTO to help fund items such as new books, classroom projects, etc.
Teacher Appreciation Week: Each year we celebrate our teachers/staff in May with a week long celebration. This year was a summer theme. Each day we delivered things like snacks, coffee, pizza, drinks etc. to the teacher lounges to show our appreciation!
Custodial, Maintenance & Bus Garage Staff: We deliver pizzas/snacks to show our appreciation each year.
Slate coasters are given to new teachers in the district.

5) JOIN
The PTO is a group of volunteer parents and community members who juggle work and volunteering in our schools in small and big ways. We invite all school families and community members to attend our meetings and events. Our meetings are the second Wednesday of the month, at 6:00 PM at Granville Elementary School. We are always looking for helpers, volunteers and ideas to support the school in as many ways as we can. We can't do it alone and appreciate any help. Whether you can volunteer once per school year or regularly, we welcome it all!
