Track Walking Lights Schedule
To support our community, families, staff, and students who use the Granville Jr/Sr High School track for exercise, the District will turn on the track's smaller walking lights starting October 15, 2026, through November 30, 2026. This schedule will remain in place until the Winter Indoor Walking Program begins in December.
Daily Mornings: canceled due to minimal use as of 10/23/26
Daily Evenings: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Evening times will be adjusted in November as it begins to get dark earlier)
Please note: These are the smaller pathway safety lights attached to the main light poles, not the large stadium lights used for athletic games.
Outdoor Walking Survey Results
Thank you to everyone who took the time to share feedback on lighting the track for safety and convenience. The District received 65 responses by October 14:
56 responses: In favor of turning on the walking lights (with equal preference for combined morning/evening hours and evening-only hours).
6 responses: No preference
3 responses: Opposed.
Based on the community interest, the District is pleased to move forward with this schedule. Operating these walking lights will cost the District approximately $2.00 to $3.00 per day.
