Dear Granville School Families,
The Granville Jr/Sr High and GES was on lockdown for approximately 5 minutes immediately following the Jr/Sr High release bell due to a security issue in the Village of Granville, that was not on school grounds.
At 2:20pm our School Resource Officer (SRO) was alerted by the Granville Police Department that there was an individual with a handgun in the village. In response, we immediately went into lockdown to prevent our Jr/Sr High and GES students from entering the village until further information.
At 2:23pm Granville Police Department alerted our SRO that the individual was apprehended and we ended the Lockdown. Our security personnel and administrators have released all JR/SR students to buses and after school activities as usual, and GES will be released on time as well.
Please note, as result all GES and JR/SR high buses will be running approximately 10 minutes late, as they left the JR/SR high later than normal.
Thank you Granville families for your cooperation and understanding. Our students are safe and we thank Granville PD for rapidly alerting us of a potential issue and special thanks to our SRO and administrators for working swiftly to keep our school community safe and secure.
Thank you again,
- Granville CSD

Do you want to work together to improve our community and schools? Grab a coffee and take 5 minutes to answer the school family survey, if you haven't already. (Check your Saturday 9/28 text from Granville CSD) . We need 45 more responses to be statistically valid for our district.

Fun with Mathematical Thinking! Mr. Sweet's Junior High math classes took on a domino challenge last week. Want to try this at home? Can you and your kids arrange 15 dominos in this pattern? Looks simple, but not so easy. #granvillehigh #granvilleny
We need bus drivers!
Are you semi-retired and looking to make a difference? Ready to start a new career proudly driving a big yellow bus that says Granville Central Schools? Not afraid of a little weather? Want to take our teams to away games and bring them home safe? Granville CSD is looking for a few good bus drivers who want to stick with us and our kids. We train!
We offer generous benefits, school hours, plenty of holidays, NYS retirement and an opportunity to be a mentor and encouraging person to a bus load of kiddos.
Our schools, community and school families need you! Please visit "Now Hiring" on the GranvilleCSD.org website for details and contact info for applying to be a bus driver or bus monitor. Granville families, please spread the word!

Please join us at the Jr/Sr High Open House this evening, Tuesday, 9/24/24 from 6-7pm. Come meet your child's teachers, get-acquainted with the school and discover what they're learning. We hope to see you there!
Due to a Bus Driver shortage, the Alligator bus and the Butterfly bus will be combined for BOTH our High school run, AND our MJT/GES run this afternoon, and will be a few minutes late this afternoon. Thank you for your understanding. (Want to drive for us? We train! Visit "Now Hiring" at GranvilleCSD.org)
